We pair because, this keeps everyone interested in the module, they catch errors early, each one has different suggestions that the system benefits from, the knowledge about the project is known to everyone in the team and an active review of all features that go in the module is taking place at every stage thanks to peers that work/program together. We can also speed up releases as needed on by forking the peers to work individually on certain parts that need speedy development and then later on join hands together again and also do a cross review of what the other one has put in place for the feature s/he implemented individually.
